Re: Kel-Tec SU-16D

I bought one of the 5.56 pistols that is basically the same gun. I liked it so much I bought another, that should give you an idea of how much I like the pistol. It has a piston on top like the AK but bolt like AR (non gunsmith description). I've put maybe a thousand rounds through them and they eat rounds my Stag AR won't. I've even hung a hundred round beta magazine from the thing. The rifle has a chrome lined barrel, pistol doesn't.
I put one of these on it

I have 4 of these sights now and they work great.
I have one eotech on an AR but it overwhelms smaller weapons.
That being said I didn't buy the rifle because I didn't like the the looks of the stock and hand guard. May be perfectly functional. It's irrational but I like solid looking weapons, so I try to find ones that shoot and look good. I have a couple of saiga 12s but don't like the looks of them, no AKs.
You may have difficulty finding one. I have not seen one for sale for a while.
If you are looking for something that gets small but is a rifle/carbine look at the FN PS90. One button and it comes apart into barrel/receiver/sight and stock so can fit into a case the size of a laptop case

Cost is about twice the Keltec though.

Did you notice the ones in the link need tax stamp

NOTE: both the D9 and D12 rifles are classified by the ATF as "Short barrel rifles" and the appropriate license and/or tax stamp must be acquired before purchasing

I can't speak for the SU 16 however I have the PLR 22 and it is a fantastic gun so far, very fun and affordable to shoot.

Kel Tec IMO can't be beat for cost, innovation and quality.

I had the Kel-Tec-su16ca and sold it. Didn't care for its plastic gun feel.
